The Cedars Polyathlon is the “highest” multisport event in the Middle-East area.
The Polyathlon aims to create self-awareness, pushing personal boundaries, teambuilding development, promotion of non competitive sport activities, and a green attitude.
The Polyathlon originated in Switzerland (www.polyathlon.ch, www.polyathlon.org).
Participants in Lebanon will come from around the world:
Middle Eastern countries, Swiss and EU university students as well as
military participants from the Lebanese Army.
This event will comprise two (2) main challenges and three summits : Qornet el Saouda (3088m), Sannine (2628m), Jabal el Cheikh (2814m)
-The Cedars Polyathlon: 25th and 26th of September 2010.
Byblos to Qornet el Sawda (3083m) linking the sea to the
highest summit in the Middle East. This challenge includes rafting,
swimming, archery, biking and trekking.
The Polyliban: 27th until the 30th of September 2010.
A combination of biking and mountaineering for 4 days in a row :
27th : Biking from the Cedars to Baskinta
28th : Summiting Sannine (2628m), biking from Sannine to Taanayel
29th : Biking from Taanayel to Rachaya el Wadi, passing around Qaroun lake.
30th : Summiting Jabal el Cheikh (2814m), back to Beirut
Main regions that we will be passing through:
*Cedars, Ainata, Chmistar, Oyoun el simane, Faqra,Baskinta,
Sannine, Tarchich, Zahleh, Taanayel, Kefraya, Aitanit, Qaroun, Rachaya
el Wadi
*The closing ceremony will take place at the army sporting club, Manara on the 30th of September 2010.
The Cedars Polyathlon and the Polyliban are organized by the Association du Polyliban.
